The Geography of Personality

I love it when people I know read or send me things involving geography. Hint hint. :) Well, my brother Rob sent me this awesome article The Geography of Personality. In this study 600,000 questionaries were sent around the country to determine the personality traits of residents of states. I love stuff like this! Make sure you go to the Interactive Graphs to find out how your state ranks according to extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness.

Ryan did the interactive map game that you sent in the email. He did it without the borders. I think the two of you should have a "map off"! :)

Hillary noted that in tonight's debate Obama and McCain seemed to be trying to name drop as many countries as possible.

We think that it would be far more entertaining to have give presidential candidates a "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" type of quiz where they have to identify countries on a map. Anyone who can get past Africa would have my vote.

I'm confident that Sarah Palin could do North America (sans Central America) and Australia (one continent, one country), but doubt she could do South America, let alone Europe, Asia, or Africa. (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
